kurt and shiori

Hello! I’m Kurt, and this is Shiori, my partner in crime (and everything else). Thanks for stopping by – we’re so glad to meet you!

If you’re anything like us, you love Japan – an island of fascinating culture, stunning scenery, lip-smacking cuisine and Gaki No Tsukai.

For the past few years we’ve been eating, seeing and doing our way through some of the best Tokyo has to offer. And you know what? We’ve barely scratched the surface.

Even for the locals there’s an endless stream of things to discover. The daring visitor who wants to venture beyond the touristy stuff doesn’t even stand a chance.

Where do you go? What do you do? Where do you even start?

Wouldn’t it be great if you had a friend here who knows the local scene to point you in the right direction? To give you tips on where to go, when to go, how to get there and what to avoid? You’ll save so much time and frustration.

“I have only one day to spend in Tokyo, and I love cute stuff and want to try one of those cool cafes – where should I go?”

“What cool souvenirs should I get?”

“We’ll be here for 3 days – anything interesting we shouldn’t miss?”

We get asked these questions a lot by our visiting friends and family. So we decided to start the Wowsabi blog and make it a Japan travel resource for everyone. We’re not expert travel writers, but we hope that our small collection of personal experiences can help make your time in Japan just a little more awesome.

We’d love for you to sign up for the Wowsabi newsletter, so we can send you blog updates and exclusive content:

If you need anything at all, or have a cool place to suggest, feel free to reach out in the comments, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or if you’re more old school – email. We love making new friends, so do drop in and say hi!

See you at the blog! 🙂
